Chequamegon 40 Coverage September 15, 2012 Yet again Mother Nature smiled on the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival as Saturday morning featured clear blue skies and temperatures in the upper 50s, rising to the low 70s by finish. In the mighty Chequamegon 40, the field saw a breakaway of 10 riders take over the race by the midway point. Cole House led the group up Firetower Hill, but it was Matthew Busche pulling away at the end to collect the 2012 overall title. Jenna Rinehart built a big lead going over the monster Firetower climb and then held off a late charge by Lea Davison to collect her fourth victory for the women. Jordan Cullen and Sara Morse claimed the Short and Fat titles.
