The Trails are Alive

The mountain bike trails in our area are in fantastic shape and the Doc is well stocked with bikes to help you enjoy them. We're getting great reports from the Lapham Peak, John Muir and CamRock trails. CLICK HERE for info on Salsa models we feature like the Spearfish and Mamasita. Have a Great Memorial Day Weekend

We wish you all a memorable weekend. The Bicycle Doctor will be closed on Monday, Memorial Day, but will be here for you normal hours from 10 am to 5 pm Saturday and Noon to 4 pm on Sunday.

Biking with a Plus on the Glacial Drumlin Trail

For over a quarter century the relaxing riding and scenic beauty along the Glacial Drumlin State Trail have offered wonderful pedaling pleasure. Right now bright lavender flox is lining the trail sides. With luck you may spot a deer and fawn crossing the trail.

These days there are more and more places to stop along your ride. Of course, there is Bicycle Doctor with great bike service and selection as well as its cafe offering coffee, a terrific selection of micro-brew beer and over 100 energy products. And we sell the daily or annual DNR State Trail Pass.

Also in Dousman, just up the street, is the Coffee Vault with a diverse soup, sandwich and pastry menu. They are now open until 4 pm. In Wales you'll find the comfort and hospitality of the Pedal'rs Inn B&B (CLICK HERE) and the new Mama D's Cafe (CLICK HERE).

The Doc's in the Top 45 in Summerfest Vote

The Doc is in the running with 45 other top vote winners for a wild card appearance at Summerfest next month. He wants to thank everyone for voting...and voting...and voting. If you are not already, you can get on the band wagon by voting online. CLICK HERE and go to the Big Gig site. Double click Tom Klein (you see and hear him playing "At the Line") then click Vote Now (up to 5 times at once). You can cast 5 votes a day between now and June 3. He's the Donald Driver of the guitar.

Doc & The Front Play in Waukesha & Delafield

On Saturday, June 2, Waukesha, home of electric guitar creator Les Paul, will host Guitar Town to celebrate their favorite son. The Doc and The Front band will play at W Main & Clinton in front of the Steaming Cup coffee house from 2-5 pm. A week later on Saturday, June 9, the Doc and The Front will be at the Delafield Brewhaus from 9 pm to 1 am. Both events are FREE.

Wisconsin Drops from 3rd to 6th Bike Friendly State

Our state fell from third place in the nation to sixth in the just released League of American Bicyclists annual ranking of bike friendly states. To read an assessment of why this happened CLICK HERE. And you can do something about it by joining the Wisconsin Bicycle Federation. If you sign up at Bicycle Doctor before the end of the month, you will get $10 off the normal $35 annual fee and you'll be mailed a free cycling map for southeast Wisconsin plus the annual Ride Guide which lists over 500 cycling events state-wide. And, your membership gets you discounts at Bicycle Doctor and over 100 other bike-friendly businesses.

How a Bicycle is Built Video

If you've ever wondered how the vintage Raleigh hanging over the Bicycle Doctor coffee bar was made here's the answer in this post-WWII British film (CLICK HERE). It's probably more than you'd ever want to know. We'd be lying if we told you every employee has to watch it. They'd all quit. The last minute is a bit uplifting though. Or, find the classic Albert Finney film "Saturday Night and Sunday Morning" filmed at the same factory.
