 Olympian Garrott Kuzzy Tuesday, September 18 Olympian Garrott Kuzzy will host a free dryland X-C clinic at Bicycle Doctor from 6 to 7:30 pm. Free snacks & beer or bevs will be provided. CLICK HERE to RSVP. This is your chance to kick off the ski season with the help of this outstanding athlete. Cory Park, just down the street from Bicycle Doctor, will come alive this Sunday, September 16. The Dousman Duathlon run-bike-run event draws hundreds to participate as individuals or on a relay team. The run legs are two miles and the biking covers 20 miles. Final Duathlon Training Ride Thursday Starting at 5:30 this Thursday, the last Dousman Duathlon tune up will be led by accomplished triathlon and road racing Team Wisconsin Multi-Sport athlete Rick Flater and fiance Sara Bertram, the top woman in Tri'ing for Childrens triathlon and perennial top five finisher in midwest triathlons and duos. What more can we say? Blizzard: The Way to Get Snowed at Lapham Peak  It's time for a X-C reality check. Whether you believe in global warming or not you have to admit last winter stunk for cross country skiing in our area. The bright spot through it all was the man-made snow trail at Lapham Peak.
Not surprisingly, the man-made snow did not just appear one morning like a blessed natural blizzard. It took a lot of effort and money. That money came from donations, not from State Park sticker or trail pass fees. The Friends of Lapham Peak are cranking up this year's Blizzard snow making fund campaign. CLICK HERE for info on how you can contribute and to see plans for expanding and improving the system. It's great to pray for snow, but smarter to donate to snow making at Lapham Peak.
