Salomon Super Fit Sale November 9-11
The Salomon Super Fit Sale will be back better than ever Friday, November 9 thru Sunday the 11th (extended hours Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm). The Doc and staff are busy getting the stock of skis, boots, poles, clothes, wax and accessories ready.
Yuriy Gusev and CXC skiers will be on hand to work with the Doc and staff to make sure you get the best possible fit using the computerized Salomon fit mat. The proper ski fit counts for 60% of on-snow performance, so don't miss this opportunity to get on the best boards you've ever had. A waxing clinic will be scheduled also.
CXC Director Yuriy Gusev will be at Bicycle Doctor Nordic Ski Shop for a three-day dryland/roller ski clinic from Friday, November 9 to Sunday the 11th. Ski Swap Saturday, November 10 The Ski Swap to benefit Peak Nordic Ski Team will be held again Saturday, November 10. Here's your chance to pick up gear at bargain prices or clean out your garage and turn old stuff into cash. Gear is best dropped off Thursday November 1 or at other times if that doesn't work. Winter Welcome Party November 3 The front of the shop will become a cabaret Saturday evening, November 3 for the Winter Welcome Party with the Doc's band The Front from 8 to 11 pm. Hoff Brau Oktoberfest will be on tap and the Doc's brats will be served at the best biker bar in the state. There will be a $4 cover for the band.  Paul Zdroik Wins Lakefront Marathon Former Doc staffer Paul Zdroik, from Watertown, a first-time marathoner, won the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon October 7 with a time of 2:27:09. He was a division III All-American at the Universitiy of Wisconsin - La Crosse. He had the lead for the last eight or nine miles of the race. Congratulations Paul. Looks like all you'll need is good wax and skis once the snow flies.
 Make it Snow by Giving to the Blizzard The Friends of Lapham Peak are on their way to ensure and improve man-made snow at Lapham this winter with their Blizzard snow making fund raiser. Ghouls ride will  roll through Milwaukee on bikes Saturday at Cafe Hollander on Downer Avenue (register at 9 am, start at 10). The ride is free, but funds raised from raffles will benefit the Bike Fed. One lucky person will win the Franken-Bike pictured here.
There will be prizes for best costumes (each rider gets a ticket to give their fave) and games like Infinity Spiral, Apple Bob Relay and Beer Barrel Bump. This year the first 50 ghouls wearing HCC wristbands will get free entry to Creatures and Creators Halloween Party at Turner Hall that evening. Happy trails, |
