Tim Cope - Tuesday, November 12 - 7pm.. On the Trail of Genghis Kahn Tickets on sale now
Tim Cope is one of Australia's most celebrated adventurers after his 10,000 km epic journey on horseback from Mongolia to Hungary on a trail famously laid down by Genghis Khan.
During his life on the Eurasian Steppe, Tim endured temperature extremes from scorching heat in the deserts of Kazakhstan to subzero temperatures in the Carpathian mountain passes – with only his three horses, dog Tigon and the big open sky for company. Despite the harsh conditions, loneliness, prowling wolves and horse-thieves, Tim encountered warm hospitality from those he met along the way. Such is the life of a nomad.
Tim will also be showing incredible behind the scenes footage from his documentary (Banff Mountain Film Festival People's Choice Award Winner 2011). Click here for more info and a trailer.

Customers who park in this lot don't have to go through the control arm, don't have to get a ticket and don't have to get a validation. Extended through 11/20/13, if you parking in this small lot, you can Spin the Prize Wheel at the register for a free prize! You'll save Midwest Mountaineering from having to pay for your parking validation, and you won't have to go through the control arm.

Come listen to talks on paddling Minnesota rivers, rowing, canoe and kayak racing and surf skis. Trips outside Minnesota include canoeing in Mongolia and Siberia and Circumnavigating Isle Royale. Rolf Peterson, a professor emeritus with Michigan Technical University, has studied wolf-moose interactions on Isle Royale since the 1970s, will discuss the wolves of Isle Royale. The second Wednesday of every month is now the all women, ONLY women, evening of bouldering in the Cave! YMCA Camp Menogyn is a remote wilderness adventure camp where we provide transformational experiences for teenagers ages 12 to 18. We provide canoeing, rock climbing, and backpacking trips from 8 to 50 days in length. Based out of West Bearskin Lake on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area out of Grand Marais MN, Menogyn has a 90-year history of introducing Minnesota youth to wilderness travel and friends they'll have for a lifetime.
