    The Loppet Foundation is seeking a grant writer to work with the Advancement Department in the research, preparation and submission of all proposals and grant applications. Part-time position, flexible hours.

  • Assistant Coach: National Development Centre (Thunder Bay, ON):
    The Assistant Coach will join our Head Coach in providing a world-class training environment and high-performance structure for 10-20 of Canada's present and future World Cup athletes. As one of two coaching staff, you will be an integral part of the success of the NDC-TBAY program. Full-time position, starting in April. Application deadline is Feb 12, 2016.

  • Nordic Ski Coach: Loppet Foundation, Minneapolis, MN:
    The Loppet Foundation is accepting applications for the position of coach for the Franklin Middle School Junior Loppet team. This is a part time position, but there are opportunities for additional responsibilities within the Loppet Foundation for candidates interested in full time work.

Karl Andresen Passes On
January 7, 2016
Karl Andresen, one of the Nordic pioneers of western Wisconsin, especially the Eau Claire area, passed away earlier this month. Andresen was only of the original Birkie founders, tallying up 30 years before hanging up the skis in 2003. A celebration of life for Karl will be held this Saturday, Jan 9 at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel in Altoona, WI.

Memorial Service For Daniel Johnson

Daniel Johnson, heavily involved in western Wisconsin cycling, as well as ski grooming and volunteering at the Birkie, passed away earlier this month. There will be a memorial service next Saturday, Aug 29th, in Frederic, WI.

Walter Spidahl Passes On
March 15, 2015
Walter Spidahl, skiing pioneer in western Minnesota, passed away last week. Walt was the founder of Spidahl Ski Gaard trail system, worked for Northland Ski Company, was president of the Fergus Falls Ski Club, and helped open Hallaway Hill ski area near Pelican Rapids in the 1950s.
