Conrad Hoigaard passed away last Friday, June 27th. He was the grandson of CJ Hoigaard, who founded Hoigaards in 1895. Conrad took over the reigns of Hoigaards from his father in 1984.

Robin Baker Passes On

Long-time coach for Deer River High School, Robin Baker passed away last week. Baker played a steady role in northern Minnesota skiing, especially with section 7 and 8, and was the groomer of Blueberry Hills ski trail. There will be a memorial service at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cohasset, Saturday, April 19th.

While the details are still unclear, Igor Badamshin passed away suddenly on Friday in Hayward. Badamshin was the CXC Team Head Coach and Knicker Nordic Head Coach (Wausau), a Russian Olympian, and bronze medalist on the 1993 World Championship relay team. Last March he help lead the Midwest Junior National team to success as the head kick wax coach. Updates forthcoming...

Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak suffered a heart attack while skiing at Theodore Wirth on Saturday morning. He is recovering at Abbott Northwestern, where he actually tweeted about his experience (and the Wirth trail conditions!).

Dick Hedenstrom Passes Away

One of the legendary Midwest skiers, Dick Hedenstrom, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening. Hedenstrom, 79, was still one of the top skiers especially in his age class. Well loved in the Twin Cities community, he will be sorely missed.
Service: Wed Oct 16th: Reviewal 9 to 11 am, Funeral at 11 am, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection at the corner of County Road D and Victoria in Roseville (due to construction, use Victoria, not County Road D to reach the church).

CXC posts that John Hugus, well known within the Nordic skiing community in Wisconsin, Junior Olympics, and a member of the Board of Directors of CXC, has passed away. Arrangements being handled by Peterson/Kraemer Funeral with visitation in Wausau Thursday evening, service Friday afternoon at Nine Mile ski chalet.
