Sons of Norway/Swiss Miss Annual Barnebirkie Ski Sticker Contest

Once again this year the Sons of Norway and Swiss Miss ask all young skiers to submit their drawings for a chance to be the winning design on the 2001 Barnebirkie Ski Stickers. The design should exemplify what fun cross-country skiing, winter and specifically, the Barnebirkie can be for the whole family. All registered skiers for the Barnebirkie receive a pair of stickers highlighting the winning design as a token of the event.

Joseph S. Gollinger, a Birkie skier and National Sales Manager of Germina North America, who wants to continue to support youth’s interest in the winter sport, started the Sons of Norway Annual Barnebirkie Ski Sticker Contest four years ago. This year the winner receives a pair of Germina skis and poles and a pair of Native Eyewear. The winner and three runners up receive a year subscription to Silent Sports Magazine and an assortment of products by Powerbar and official licensed 2002 Olympic apparel by Andazia.

As an official American Birkebeiner event the Barnebirkie has attracted nearly 2,00 young skiers in the past. It’s a fun cross-country ski even for all children ages 3-13. All skiers finish a winner and receive a medal as they cross the finish line. Skiers choose from a 1, 2.5 or 5-kilometer course.
