Central Cross Country Skiing NorAm at Telemark Resort

Planning a trip to Salt Lake City for the 2002 Winter Olympics? No? Well, consider a trip to Telemark Resort in Cable, WI.

Announcing the Central Cross Country Skiing NorAm at Telemark Resort Dec 12, 15, 16, 2001. The NorAm is a series of top level Continental Cup racing for North America. All of the best skiers in the US and Canada will be racing for slots on their respective Olympic Teams. Also incorporated in the format will be the Central Collegiate Ski Association, Juniors attempting to qualify for either the Great Lakes or Midwest Junior Olympic Teams, and age group categories for Citizens. Competition events will include distances appropriate for early season racing, as well as the 4th stop on the NorAm circuit: a 15/30 km mass start free technique on Wednesday, and 5/10 km interval start classic and free technique races on the weekend.

Scott Wilson, Program Manager for CXC Skiing commented, "We are really excited to return to Telemark Resort for these Continental Cup races. It's been a long time since the World Cup trails hosted such a prestigious week of racing. We plan to emphasize the historical aspect of these trails, while looking forward to Salt Lake. This will be a great way to kick off an Olympic season for the citizen racers, in addition to a spectator's up close preview to the hottest cross country skiers in North America."

Expos and demos, banquets, receptions, ceremonies, pre season high school camps, television coverage, and great racing. What a splendid manner for celebrating the beginning of an Olympic season!
