Wayne Fish was from Rhinelander and helped with the team there as well being a great educator and athlete. The Rhinelander Golf course has a bell in his honor.

Dave Landgraf was the executive director for the Bloomer Area Ski Training Association as well as the phyical ed teacher and coach. The goals of that group were to instill a love and passion for the sport, to develp a competitve team, to ensure life long participation in skiing and to pass the "Birkie Fever" torch to the youth of Bloomer. As indicated by the vast number of persons attending his funeral these goals were accomplished.

Accepting the award for Wayne Fish was his wife Barb (Bryan Fish, USA coach, is son). Accepting for Dave Landgraf was Birkie founder and good friend Ernie St.Germaine.
