Vasaloppet Best Conditions Ever

Four-time Vasaloppet USA winner, Matt Liebsch, will attempt to win his fifth Vasaloppet USA race next Sunday. Mora native Chad Giese won six Vasaloppet titles and and Long Lake’s Jan Guenther won five.

Liebsch and all other skiers will enjoy the best snow conditions as well as a great forecast for the 42nd Vasaloppet USA.

Over 30 inches of snowfall has meant the entire Vasaloppet ski course has been groomed multiple times from the start area to Mora. Forecasts call for 14 to 19 degrees and sun on Sunday with calm winds.

Skiers can continue to register at www.vasaloppet.us through Friday before rates increase by $20 for Saturday registration. There are no race day registrations.

After the race, skiers can pick-up their clothing bags at the Celebration tent adjacent to the finish line and enjoy food and adult beverages for purchase. Or the traditional free skiers lunch is available at the Mora High School.
