Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Ten inches of new dry fluffy snow from the past two days was packed for a 3 km skating lane and 5 km classical track. The rain soaked inch of old packed snow is making for a good hard firm base. Skating lane packed to four or five inches. Classical tracks are deep and will firm up during the day. Drifting in open exposed areas.

Morning
Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Three to four inches of new dry fine snow from the past few days packed this morning to an one inch base. No tracks set. Packed areas in the mowed grass sections are mostly free of grass except under trees and windblown areas and could be skated. Packed areas in the sections of trail mowed this fall have stubble in most of the trail. Five k packed for classical and three k packed for skating.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Rock skis ]
Good first ski for the year, but its pretty easy to push to bare ground since there is no compacted base. A few branches and debris poked through, but I was using my crappy no wax skis expecting it.
