Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
With the addition of some light snow over the weekend, the trails are skiable but are only in fair condition. There are about 2 inches of fluffy snow over an icy base. Most of the trails are snow-covered, but there are a few spots of exposed grass and leaves. The trails have not been groomed recently.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Due to the record warm temps and rain on Monday, skiing is not advised on the Afterhours Trail. Bare ground, ice, and standing water exist over a good portion of the trail. It is yet to be determined whether or not grooming will resume this season.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Great skiing at After Hours. Beth and I were striding, but I stepped out to the skate lane several times. New snow on top of ice a little less here than in Duluth area, but adequate. Great conditions for both skate and classic, but I think maybe we should cut down any red oak trees within 100 meters of the trail. No, really, the oak leaves were bad for a very small percentage of the trails.

The trails were groomed yesterday and are in very good condition for skate skiing. The classic track may be shallow in some spots. It is still icy at the trailhead. There is about a 5 inch snow base and roughly 12 inches of snow in the woods.

All skate lanes groomed as of this morning. No tracks can be re-set until we receive more snow. Some icy patches on trail, but overall it should be good skating for the weekend.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Half of the skate lanes were groomed Wednesday, the rest will be groomed Thursday. Conditions are very icy near the trailhead, but much better farther out. Base is still about 4 inches with about 8" in the woods. Classic tracks were not reset and are in fair condition (icy). We may not be able to reset until we receive more snow.
