We had a great Season Closer, groomed up 55 km today with the PB's and had great spring skiing. It was fun to have a beer and brat with our friends and pass holders and say "See you next season... Thank you for a great season!" The ski trails, ski shop and wax room are closed for the season. Please remember to use the ski racks when you park your skis at the end of your visit!

[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Just coming in from grooming in the bigger Bully... It was a "sweet, bitter" feeling as I put in the Bob Seger CD Silver Bullet Band and power-tilled into the sunset for my last evening grooming of the season. The trails groomed up great tonight. We will be back out with both Pisten Bullies again in the early morning. Groomed tonight Blueberry, Bards, Hautanen, Popple Flats, PitPoint and Cherry. This will be great skiing after the temps warm up a bit. On the groom schedule for early morning: Tamarack 2 Track Ridge Runner, Coyote, Saari, River Trail, Memory, Sulos with both Bully's. Summary: 57 km groomed up with powertillers for Sunday skiing.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
I am just coming from grooming with the big Bully. I powertilled and reset tracks on Blueberry Bards, Hautanen, and Meadow Ridge so far tonight. The trails are well covered and powertilling up nicely. I will get a few hours sleep and partner up with Little Bully and we will double team powertill Tamarack 2 Track and then split up and powertill Ridge Runner, Coyote, Saari and Cherry and River and all side loops. Time permitting we will most likely hit the dog trails with one of the Bully's. We will not be retracking classic only trails since we have a good deep track on them and it will ski OK when the temps soften the track. Peltonen is also not going to be regroomed or reopened with the steepness it is too tricky to ski... and dangerous without grooming. Summary we will have about 50 km groomed up 65 km open and we have great snow coverage thru the weekend. We close Sunday at 5 PM.

Skied ABR today, 10 am to 2:30 pm. Great conditions. Silky smooth corduroy on the skate deck. Deep classic tracks, a bit hard before noon but fine after. It was blue sky, sunny and temps in the mid-20s to mid-30s. Spring skiing at its best. They're closing for the season after Sunday, so come and get it folks!

I am just coming in from grooming with the bigger Pisten Bully. The trails are looking great. I set track and groomed skate lanes on River, Sulos, Hautannen, Bards, Blueberry and Meadow ridge! The other main trails were Pisten bully powertilled this morning. Skiing has been super for spring skiing. We close this Sunday evening, March 26th at 5 pm.

We had a great day of skiing today, fresh tracks and skate lanes at 9 AM. The base is about 8 inches --honest average inches. There are 3 thin spots on 75 km but no bare spots. We had 5 groomers out again early morning power-tilling and setting tracks on 68 km of trails. With the freeze thaw cycles it is labor and equipment intensive (and expensive) to groom for 9 AM skiing, We have been doing that for the last several months. We will be grooming, of course, next week... but for the last week of our ski season. It is going to be based on timing. For classic skiers you will have solid tracks but if you show up at 9 AM at 28 degrees the tracks will be well formed but fast and icy... maybe you want to wait for the temps and sun to soften them or ski the flat trails here. Skaters will have hard and groomed FFF conditions (Fun Fast and Forgiving) but you will have some trails softened with the Pisten Bully in the morning and then some that were groomed the night before that are hard and fast and smooth... they will soften with the temps later in the day for firm skiing for the season pass holders that work 9-4. There will be some trails like the dog trails and the 2 expert trails Peltonen Pass, and Ridge Runner that will be closed until the next weekend -- they are steep and can be dangerous to ski in in-groomed conditions.

I am just coming in from grooming with the Pisten Bully. I groomed up about 24 k tonight of combination trails. It is still tilling up as dry cold powder! We had both pisten bully's out this morning and groomed up over 40 k. We plan to attack the classic only for Saturday skiing. 'Skiing has been super' come and get it while we are open. We close the last Sunday of March. That means we are open until Sunday March 25th at 5 pm.

I am just coming from grooming with the bigger bully, the snow is still dry cold powder. I groomed 10 km and we will take both Pisten Bully's out early in the morning and groom up another 30+ km. The conditions are excellent and it looks like they will be great till closing. We will continue to groom until we close Sunday March 25th. Cabins open this week and next.

It's a broken record, but with classic tracks you want to play over and over... conditions are perfect at ABR. Firm, fast corduroy and smooth, solid tracks. The base is still solid.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
It was "died and went to heaven" ski conditions being reported today. The base is smooth like silk and we have been powertilling with both pisten bully's daily. I am just coming from powertilling the main trails tonight. We have all 75 km and have been grooming all 75 k daily. With the reduced skier traffic for mid March we will probably only groom 25-35 km daily alternating what trails we groom. Ask at the trailhead for a updated report before skiing. Our discounted season passes are on sale for next year thru April 1. We plan to be open through March 25th.
