Observation
[ Trails Open: Most ]
Rock Lake Trails are open! The trail has not been groomed due to the warm temperatures. The snow is soft, but skiers are reporting decent skiing. There is debris (sticks and leaves) on the trails. The classic tracks are in good condition, but soft. With the warm temperatures predicted for the weekend, the conditions will most likely be very soft snow and possibly icy in the early mornings if temps get down that low. The trail will not be groomed again until more snow and cooler temperatures are received. Rock Lake loop is not being maintained this year. Use caution in the parking lot, as it is slippery and icy in places. There is a five dollar parking fee, but Monday, February 20, 2017, is a free fee day for President's Day.

We had a fabulous ski on recently the groomed trails. Lovely, hilly terrain rolling thru superb large white pine and hardwood forest really made for an outstanding skiing experience. Be sure to have your kick wax right as the hills will test your kick.

Rock lake is looking very good due to all the recent snow! The trail received somewhere around 5" of new snow this week. Groomed today in the morning and with the frigid temperatures should set up very nice! All loops are tracked and ready for the weekend except the Rock Lake loop.

Trails were groomed, but no tracks set. Rock Lake loop is not groomed. Trails are in fair condition, and we need more snow! Expect to see a lot of debris (sticks and pine needles) on the trails.

Groomed Rock Lake! The trail is in decent condition. Did not set track due to debris getting kicked up especially in the tight canopy areas of the balsam. But there is a decent deck out there if you want to give it a shot. Rock skis are still a must!

We finished rolling and packing the trail. Cold temps are getting the base set very well. We're just waiting for more snow to set some tracks!
