Trail Reports

2015-2016 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 40    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Another 3" last night, Todd groomed up 20 K on the Gold, Cedar, Summit. Classic and skate today and aside from a few water crossings, I could use my best classic skis. We are open through Apr 3rd, weather dependent. Happy Easter!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Good with a few exceptions.
They are still grooming Summit and parts of Gold (and Cedar?). The deck is good but the streams have eaten the snow away so there are parts where you have to pick your way around 1 foot to 3 foot swaths of no snow. One bigger swath on gold where I took skis off to cross a 20 foot swath. Otherwise it is very enjoyable!

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
9" since Wednesday on top of a 5-6" base. Todd and Jon groomed up parts of the Cedar/Gold and Summit Trails to give us about 15KM for the weekend. Spring skiing is alive at the Ridge!

Grooming Scheduling
[ B skis ]
We received 6+" of packable wet snow today, but it was after almost 2" of rain! We lost everything except but 15Km of the Northern exposure Cedar and Gold trails. We are track packing tonight and will be grooming the 15Km up tomorrow morning. To access the trails skiers must ski up the North Face Cat Track for a K to access the Gold and Cedar Trails. Get it this weekend before it`s all gone!

Grooming
[ B skis ]
Still skiing! Plenty of base 3-4", on the Gold, Cedar, Summit trails. If we can survive the rain today, snow may be coming tomorrow, and we may be able to resume grooming on Thursday for the weekend! Not going to stick a fork in it yet!

Grooming Scheduling
[ B skis ]
We are no longer grooming, but there is still 6" of base in the woods, getting to it is a challenge. Take the Northface Cat Track to access the Gold, or ski the Northfacing Gold to access the following still skiable trails: Summit, Gold, Cedar, upper Bronze. Stay tuned we are getting an inch of rain Tuesday-Wednesday.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Feels like spring, looks like winter.
Lots of k's left to be had at the ridge. Things are thin in the normal areas (golf course, pines) but once you get in the woods coverage is still good.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Our trail system has received 8+" of snow in the last week, and survived last weekend`s warm up. The 60Km is in the best shape of the year, get it before the warm weather comes next week.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: 30 degrees, freshly compacted, pristine corduroy on a 10" base.
We skied the entire Pepsi/GRE race course Wednesday after Pisten Bully grooming of Tuesday night. Skate deck was flat but a little draggy with all the new snow on top. The trails should be absolutely perfect after next tilling and track setting.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Warm with 4+ inches of fluffy snow.
Nothing like a morning of powder skiing! Skied the recently groomed beginning 1k of the Pepsi Challenge course in continuously falling snow to Summit and Gold. Cloud like powder skied remarkably well which will provide a perfect base for Saturday's races!
