Conditions: 50% connected with some pretty long patches of snow.
Magney has had some pretty good skiing for the past 5 1/2 months, thanks Mother Nature! For the rest of those "die hards" who love this trail system, sorry, it's done for the year. The patches of grass were about equal to the snow, but the long patches of snow were really fun! Unfortunately the 4 Wheelers continue to frequent that trail, but the city has a bunch more meetings before they can physically do anything about it.

Conditions: Crusty but softening.
Got up for some crust skiing and magnet delivered. It was fast but getting a little bit softer as the sun burned off the fog this morning. The Elys peak and Bardon's peak loops had a second set of classic tracks sort of set and melted out on them, not sure why. The main loop skied great. I used rock skis but you could probably get away with B skis. With some luck and lots of clouds the skiing might hold out there for a while.

Conditions: Excellent. Several inches of new snow. Freshly groomed this morning with excellent track and skate deck.
A big thank you to the trail groomers for another weekend of great skiing.

Conditions: Great grooming; a very few thin spots in the tracks.
Very nice conditions for waxless classic with some paste glide wax. Some ice in the sets made for lots of double-poling through places I'd normally expect to stride. Great fresh grooming on the skate for when the going got too fast in the sets.

Conditions: Some loops tilled, some loops dragged with a smaller machine.
The main loop was tilled and excellent. Smooth, wide, level and easy to edge. Bardon's loop was not nearly as nicely chopped up and smooth. The connector was also fantastic.

Conditions: After the unseasonably 50 degree weather on saturday, the trails were in great shape. The night before the temperature dropped below freezing, the wind picked up and there was a slight dusting of snow. Underneath the fluffy snow there was a firm and fast ice deck. Overall a great day for skiing!
Some debris had blown on the trail including a big tree. See photos.

Conditions: Fresh courderoy consisting of powder mixed with the ice. Hard packed but not icy on the surface. Classic track has some ice on the bottom.
Perfect spring conditions. The trail is hard packed after a tilling on Thursday or Friday. The trail did not melt much today despite the warm temps in the late afternoon. Skating should be great in the morning.

Conditions: In good shape for skating and classic; needs grooming.
Magney hasn't been groomed for a week and could use it, but the skating was good and classic track looked mostly intact. Saw one small icy patch and one exposed rock. There are several uneven/bumpy sections and some sections where the skate lane is too narrow to avoid skiing over the tracks. So, not wide flat corduroy, but I had a very enjoyable ski.
