Grooming Secondhand
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Very good with a base of about 18 inches on both the Teuton and Valkyrie Trails.
The Teuton Trails were refreshed and re-tracked on Monday. The skating lane was combed to break up the crusty snow. A skier reported that the skating lane was very fast. The Valkyrie Trails were refreshed and Loops A & B were reset on Tuesday. After looking at Loop A on the Teuton Trail, the groomer decided to reset the tracks because they didn't set up well on this section of the trail on Monday.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: 18 inch base and in very good condition on both the Valkyrie and Teuton Trail Systems.
The groomer went out early today and reset tracks and refreshed the skating lanes on the Teuton Trail system. Skiers using the Valkyrie Trails reported that they are still in very good condition. The groomer is reporting all of the trails appear to still be in very conditions even after the rain showers that moved through this afternoon. The groomer will be watching the weather and trail conditions due to the forecasted unseasonably warm temperatures (up to 40 degrees) with rain that is predicted over the weekend. Please check the fee station for updates posted by the groomer following operations for the most up to date trail conditions. The Forest Service is trying some temporary changes in the main parking area for this season. We have added a 4 to 5 car plowed parking area near the warming room and removed the row signs in the main parking lot. An official notice with comment cards can be found at the fee stations; warming room; and chalet to collect comments from the public. Please let us know what you think.

The groomer went out and combed all of the skating lanes and reset the tracks on the Teuton Trails. The Valkyrie Trails were in good condition. Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Good, tracks icy in spots.
Nice skating today at Valhalla. The trails held up well to the warm temps over the weekend and were relatively smooth without any major ruts. The classic tracks were really icy in many places, so I'm guessing classic would have been tricky, but they were a great ride on the downhills! The trails should groom up nicely.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Base is estimated at 10 to 12 inches and in very good condition.
The groomer set tracks on both the Teuton and Valkyrie Trail systems on Friday, January 29th. The tracks set up great, but it is unknown how they will hold up with the predicted warmer temperatures starting on Saturday. The parking area is very soft and slushy. Predicted unseasonably warm temperatures for the weekend may make the parking areas even softer and wet. Please use caution when parking or driving in the parking areas. The Forest Service is trying some temporary changes in the main parking area for this season. We have added a 4 to 5 car plowed parking area near the warming room and removed the row signs in the parking lot. An official notice with comment cards will be placed at the fee stations; warming room; and chalet to collect comments from the public.
