Trail Reports

2016-2017 season
Reports 1 to 2 of 2    Month: Jan | Dec

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Overall conditions were fair-good. The common trail at the start and the short loop were pretty well used, with some bare spots. Bare/thin spots usually revealed prairie grass or ice. The tracks on the perimeter loop were better. This was especially true for the east side (with the exception of the uphill near Lyndale Ave, where there were many leaves popping up thru the snow).

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Went out with my wife for a brief early season ski. Trails were not friendly to the ski bases but majority of the trails were ok for casual skiing. There were twigs/reeds/dirt during a quarter of the ski. People did not heed the 'do not walk on ski trails' signs posted throughout. Only if Hyland is very busy would I pick Wood Lake over Hyland.
