Still going. The mix of rain and snow in the city yesterday was all snow out at Lappe, and the ski conditions are quite good. There's probably about 10-12cm of fresh snow over the groomed surface from the weekend, with a nice skied in classic track and a soft but still very skiable skate deck. It was right around the freezing mark this morning and it's a little bumpy as expected, with a few tree branches down here and there. Skating is a bit of a workout; however, my old pair of Fischer Crowns were perfect in the tracks. Spring skiing may last for a little while here yet, but today was a nice way to wrap up the season.

Beautiful day for a ski. Trails were PistenBully groomed yesterday for skate and classic, and conditions were still near perfect this morning. Skating surface was level and solid and classic tracks were full depth. The temperature at 8am was -6c, warming up to near zero by 10am under bright sunshine. Warmer temps and lots of sun in the forecast for the rest of the weekend with a return to snow on Monday.

It still looks like winter just north of Thunder Bay. Snow-laden trees, full coverage, excellent grooming (of course). Temps were just above freezing and we had decent kick with our warm wax.

Phenomenal Conditions at Lappe this weekend. Since I was last here, the trails have been widened and smoothed considerably. We were greeted with hard tracks, and a firm skate lane. No dirt/debris, a little fresh and falling snow, perfect skiing. The Yellow and Red loops are groomed with two tracks plus a wide skate lane, while the hillier Blue loop had one track with a skate lane. Trails are so fun, we will be back for more. Thanks to Lappe, and volunteers for all the work they have done in recent years to make these World Class Trails!
