Grooming Scheduling
[ B skis ]
We missed out on the recent snow but the entire forest still has plenty of snow. East loops: Fair condition. Well worn, icy with some debris. Should soften and be skiable on the weekend. West loops: Good condition. Firm icy classic tracks. Skate deck will be regroomed this evening. Backcountry:(lake dunes, inland dunes, ungroomed fire lanes, deer trails, swales, etc) have plenty of firm snow cover. Enjoy exploring if you find the groomed trails to difficult to ski on.

Grooming

4 inches of wet heavy snow on Monday night. Spent most of Tuesday picking debris of the trail. Classic tracks were set Tuesday evening and are in good condition. Skate lane was packed Tuesday and groomed again Wednesday evening and is in good condition.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Classic had Soft tracks.
West trails were groomed and tracked. The tracks were good in many areas. In some areas the track was breaking down from ski traffic and the soft snow. East trails I think were a bit more consistent than the west. All of the east trails were also single tracked. The fresh lake effect snow was great. No debris on any of the trails except where deer left their leaf digging mess. I always enjoy the scenery and rolling ski terrain at Point Beach.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Good. Nice base.
Skated Red Pine trail this morning. Was regroomed from yesterday. Very good conditions for skating. Just a bit soft but 26 degree temps provided nice glide. Classic tracks were groomed yesterday and were skied in. Didn't check Rawley Point classic only trails. They were groomed yesterday and skied very well.

Conditions: Very good to excellent.
First time there, absolutely gorgeous. Ranger and volunteer do the grooming (donate please), excellent job. Can't wait to go back again, hopefully we will get more snow and lots of it! Not crowded.

Morning
Grooming
Pleasant surprise with 5 inches of lake effect snow last night. Ridges Ridges trail was groomed and tracked early this morning and conditions are good. Working on the skate lane today - will likely be a little soft today.

Observation
Point Beach is getting heavy lake effect snow this evening. Expect nice ski conditions for the weekend. We have been skiing off trail on backcountry skis all week and have found good snow cover throughout the forest.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Good. Skate deck just groomed with minimal use.
Skated the freshly groomed Red Pine trail. The new snow set up well. Very little debris. Temps in the high 20's provided excellent glide. Classic track were skied in. Snow was too light to set track. The Red/Blue/Yellow classic only trails were machine set but looked a bit shallow.
