Conditions: Fair to good for skating.
Lower trails are not groomed but are skiable with rock skis. Upper trails are generally in good shape with a few bad spots which can be avoided. "B" skis should be OK. Woods are skiable with rock skis. No classic track has been set.

Grooming Scheduling [
] |
Ski free this weekend! Open house. All welcome. Try us out. All trails open and in good condition but best to use b skis. Occasional grass tufts showing in open areas and a few roots on the west but near ideal conditions in the west woods. Will be groomed again Friday early morning. Any new season passes purchased are for 2016-2017.

Colder temps have firmed up the trail. It's in fair to poor condition for skating but some portions are decent. Other areas are icy and glazed over and will require you to use caution. Rock skis are a must. Hard to build up a rhythm with the inconsistency. Not much of a winter here in SE WI.

Lower your expectations and you might be pleasantly surprised. It was fair/marginal this afternoon. Not much of a base left. Some stretches are decent but there are places which are patchy/icy/debris riddled. Not a glowing report but it is skiable and skiing is way better than not skiing. I stayed out of the west loop of the woods.

Observation [
] |
Observational report: The trails at Fox Hill appeared skiable for skating. They aren't 100% covered in all areas but enough of the base (about 2-3" left) survived the heat wave. I did not ski, but as I was taking some pictures, skier Pat came to give it a try. We clearly need more snow, but for those diehards it might just be good enough.

Conditions: Very good for both skate and classic.
Two new inches for dry powder yesterday revitalized everything. Groomed this morning.

Conditions: Really good, classic tracks set, skate deck freshly groomed. Minimal debris on trails. Not at all icy and plenty of snow to get down hill and around corners with no problems.
Though cold, beautiful and fabulous skiing. As usual Jerry has done an amazing job and the tracks are set and the skate deck is all perfect for tomorrow's race. Airstream is in place and ready to be a warming hut and timing headquarters. There will be sublime prizes and delicious brunch post race. Hope you all can make it!

Conditions: Good for skating.
Late afternoon Tuesday there was a solid base with 1-2 inches fresh ungroomed snow on top. Only a few people had skied through the new snow. Downhills were in good shape. Would suggest "B" skis only because I'm not sure what the base looks like under the new snow. It was still snowing a little when I left. There was not much of a classic track.
