Notes

A beautiful, rolling loop just east of Northfield. Several hills vary in length and steepness, but all are fun to climb and descend. Skiing at a good aerobic pace, the route takes about 45 minutes. The route is the rectangle formed by Woodley St. E. (aka 100th St. E and C.R 28) on the south, Kane Ave. (aka C.R. 42) on the east, 90th St. E (aka Wall Street Road) on the north (where you'll pass by Carleton College's amazing wind turbine), and Spring Creek Road on the west. Easy parking available in the subdivision just off Spring Creek. Stop in downtown Northfield (1 mile west) afterwards. Pros: Good road surfaces and soft shoulders; little traffic; great rural scenery; some decent hills with good climbs and nice descents. Cons: Traffic can pass at high speeds (though you always get wide berths); turkey farms are smelly. (Submitted by Christopher Tassava)
