Grooming Scheduling
[ Bare ground ]
Very wet, slow snow today. It looks like the trail skiing/grooming season is over for us. We had a good but all-too-short season! See you next December?

Grooming
[ B skis ]
Hard-packed, icy skate lanes. Classic tracks still look good but its going to be blue klister wax again today. With some snow forecast for Friday night, we may be grooming on Saturday morning.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle Grooming
[ Good skis ]
I groomed all of the skate lanes and set tracks on Skidder, Jammer, and Forest Lake trails. Tracks set on Sunday on all the other trails were firm and very good. Today's tracks are not so good; shallow and wavy. Then I classic skied all loops; very good blue klister skiing again. Snow depth on 90% of trails is just fine and should hold up well through the weekend.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
I classic-skied all 18 km this morning and had a blast! The hard-packed trails and solid tracks (groomed on Thursday) were perfect for blue klister skiing. Fast but not out of control, and grip was great. Not sure how long this will hold up with several very warm days coming up.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
I classic skied the 18km early afternoon today. Classic spring skiing conditions; fast (icy) on north or east-facing downhills and great conditions on south-facing sloping and flat areas. I plan to groom trails again on Wednesday morning.

Scheduling
[ Good skis ]
Excellent conditions, skate and classic. I groomed skate lanes and some of the classic tracks (where the Rib Lake 8th graders skied Wednesday). I'll be away for a couple of days (at the Birkie) and it looks the warm temps will make things impossible to groom again at least until Sunday.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
We got another 2" snowfall overnight so I groomed again this morning; 14 of 18km are done and in excellent condition. Pretty soft but it should be really good tomorrow!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Top notch as always, as good as it gets.
This has become one of my favorite places to ski. I haven't ever been there when it wasn't either good or excellent, even when other places were unskiable. It lived up to its reputation for our visit this time. Although it is run for church camps and retreats, they and very welcoming and friendly towards the general public. Donations are appreciated.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Excellent conditions. I groomed skate lanes today; they were pretty hard-packed after yesterday's race but now they are excellent again. Tracks are firm and fast.

Excellent conditions. Just groomed this morning and it turned out great. Should be excellent for the Rib Lake Hinderbinder on Saturday.
