Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
A bit cold, soft and slow, but a beautiful brand new classic track and a great day of skiing in the north woods. In the sun, or where some skiers had gone before me, the tracks were noticeably faster. Special green gave plenty of kick. Should be faster and about perfect on Thursday. Strong NW wind, but no debris at all.

Skiing conditions are still awesome and fast out at Biskey, especially with the new fluffy snow falling this morning! Encouraged to take a drive up to Fredenberg to check out the trails. Ski on.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I groomed today and went over all the trails 2 or 3 times. The snow took a great track and there are no bare spots except on eagle ridge. I did not ski the the track but it looks very good. Remember Biskey is classic only. I would ski this with my good skis and be a bit careful on eagle ridge.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
White Pine, Birch Ridge, Eagle Ridge, and Wolf Run are all groomed as of today. I skied the trails this morning - great conditions out there! Temps are perfect at around 20 degrees, snow conditions are optimal for fast skiing, tracks are in great shape, sunny skies, etc! Definitely consider heading up to Biskey this weekend for some Birkie practice!

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied some of the trails late this morning. Great snow conditions for skiing other than the somewhat brisk weather. The tracks are filled in a few open spots on Wolf Run with about a half inch of snow from wind, but awesome skiing! Definitely suggest heading up there to to do some loops!

Observation Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All ]
Changes in scenery from the logging at the end of last year is not the only difference you will notice out at Biskey this ski season! You will also see new maps with one-way directional routing on certain trails. This is due to a safety concern of head-on collisions with an increasing number of skiers on the trail system in conjunction with the step hills and limited sight distance. You can see the new clockwise directions in the above map, and new, better-quality maps will be posted with the new directions around the trail system. The foldable maps are already at the trailhead. Also, Pine Meadow will be closed again this season, along with Biskey Ponds Loop. Both are slated for future construction. Happy skiing!

Afternoon
Observation Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All ]
Logging activities on lands owned by MN Power around the Biskey Ponds Ski Trail System have been completed and the trails were packed and rolled as of last weekend! Still waiting for some decent snowfall, although this most recent snow this past weekend will provide a good base! Since Wolf Run was plowed for logging, it will need more snow than the rest of the system. If you want to try skiing the system, rock/B-skis are recommended for right now. Keep Snow Dancing!

Evening
Observation
[ Trails: Closed ]
I stopped by the other day. Not sure as to the fate of Biskey this winter. Looked to be some considerable logging operations happening, and the main access trail was being used as a road.
