Trail conditions were surprisingly good at 44F. Occasional needle and leaf debris created somewhat slow skiing, but overall a very enjoyable outing skiing the 6K loop.

Did the 10k loop minus Iso Maki. Trails well skied, but grooming holding up well. 27F at around 5pm, just cold enough to not be sticky.

Good conditions at Korkki. About 4 inches of fresh snow on top of a rock hard base. The groomer had been over the trails in the morning but the track was quite shallow and soft. Pole plants nice and solid. Iso Maki was not groomed and was roped off. Overall a pleasant ski. Enjoy it for what it is.

Good skiable trails. Fun with plenty of powder to stay in control on the hills Skied in track, not set but ran into groomer and he said he will set track tomorrow.

First time here and it was a pretty trail. Single classic track grooming seemed mostly skier tracked. Coverage was good with some debris and stubble but not too bad. Skied the outer loop but got a little confused on the way back as the directional signage was excellent on the way out but pretty absent on the way back. But liked the signage for the hills and curves. Would ski again with more snow.

Korkku Nordic open for a great ski. I thought I'd classic the 6k only based on previous report, but at the cutoff intersection I saw clear tracks to the 10k loop. I followed these tracks and found a solidly groomed track for all 10k plus. Intermittent sections lacking firm tracks, but good balance practice. Overall, go ski Korkki with good skis and expect some leaves and needles to stick to kick wax.

Had a great ski at Korkki today. The fresh snow over the crust made for nice conditions. A tiny amount of ice on some of the downhill turns where the top layer had been scraped off, but barely worth mentioning. Take a hitch up the shore for some great skiing and drop a few bucks in the donation box. The 7.5 k, 10k, and the Iso Maki loops are currently closed. The 1k, 4k, and 6k loops are open.

The perfect way to end the year is to ski at Korkki Nordic Ski Center. To make the experience even better bring along people that you love. After you have made the long climb out to Johan's Gate To Heaven, successfully descended the Upper Roller Coaster and Cook's Fall and stopped for a moment at Marty's Rest to rewax, then enjoyed the long double pole gradual descent back to the chalet you know what it is to be alive and a part of what makes this spot on the earth so special. What about the trail conditions? The classic track was very good for 90% of the loop and good for the other 10%. But that really isn't the important thing about Korkki, what is more important is that you experience the journey around the best 10k in Minnesota.

Great day out there: fresh layer of snow over old icy tracks made for a wonderful, soft, quiet ski. There is a big tree across the trail on the 10k loop that is a bit difficult to get around.
