Excellent conditions for skate and stride this morning on the snowmaking loops. A generally shallow layer of soft corn snow on a firm base provided a fast and fun surface for working on fine tuning your technique. A bit more loose snow up in the woods than on the lower trail. Random ridges on lower Magic Carpet.

Skied 6:30 am. Skate deck was freshly groomed making for fast, smooth man made snow trails. It was dynamite! Thanks first time groomer Mike! Great job!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
I had the Pisten Bully out Sunday night to till, groom, and set new tracks on the entire manmade trails. Everything is in great shape and with some luck it will setup and have some fast skiing in the morning. Expect sugar snow conditions turning soft as the day progresses. Enjoy the day on the trails!

Corn snow conditions for skate on the snowmaking loops this morning. Last nights grooming was quickly broken down by the heavy traffic, but it was still faster than yesterday. A fast descent down Summerstage Hill was good fun. Magic Carpet is very good at the top but badly rutted towards the bottom. New tracks made for easy gliding for striders. Beautiful day for easy cruising with your friends.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The Piston Bully was out Saturday night grooming the man made loops. The skate deck was tilled and is in great condition. New tracks were set and are in great condition as well. Ski it while you can, skiing in the morning should be great.

At 9am the skate conditions on the man-made were good as reported by the groomer. Parking lot was 80% full as many were enjoying the conditions. At about 10:30 am, the skating began to be slower due to warmer temperatures and heavy ski traffic but still enjoyable as I ended skiing 30k, my longest of the season.

Very good conditions for skate and stride this morning on the snowmaking loops. Firm and fast skate lane early that softened and broke down from the heavy skier traffic and climbing temps. Getting slower as the day progressed. New tracks holding up so far. Magic Carpet has some good chute development, but is actually soft and slow - except in the tracks, which are fast. Kudos to Waukesha Rotary and the BOLD skiers on the trails today, showing that everyone can enjoy a beautiful day on the snow.

Started skiing at 6:30 this morning and the skate and classic grooming was perfect. Deep tracks and well set up corduroy. The tilling brought up some new snow so there was less debris than last week. Thanks to the team! Sections started to breakdown and soften as the morning progressed. Still a great base with a little loose snow on top. Expect similar conditions Sunday morning. Then grooming becomes a day-by-day call as temps might not dip below freezing.

Grooming

I had the Pisten Bully out early this morning and groomed the entire skate deck and reset tracks on our man-made trail system. As the weather pattern is these days, it should be good skiing until the air temperature warms up and breaks our snow down. Enjoy the skiing that we have going on at the moment. The depth and width of our trails keeps shrinking on a daily basis. Enjoy today and have a great ski.

Skated the one mile man made loop just past noon, found loose sugary corn snow over a good base. A bit slow, but could have been worse if the sun was out. Loose snow on bottom of magic carpet hill from snow plowing, but not real bad, easy to navigate. If there was an end of season ski awards, man made trails would be the MVP, along with the groomers and generous donations from people.
