Initial Meeting of State-wide Cross Country Ski Organization Set
The initial meeting of the new state-wide cross country ski organization has
been set. Organizers from the Brainerd Nordic Ski Club, the Bemidji Area
Cross Country Ski Assn. and the North Star Ski Touring Club are behind this
organizational effort. Representatives from the Minnesota resort owners
assn., Minnesota retailers, XC ski related manufacturers, MN cross country
ski clubs, MN high school XC ski coaches, and XC ski race organizations have
already committed to participating in this new organization. Minnesota has
approximately 500,000 people who say that they cross country ski according
to the MN DNR. Skiers in Minnesota enjoy over 3000KM of cross country ski
trails throughout the state. This new organization will be active in
promoting and maintaining the sport of cross country skiing in Minnesota.

- Discussion and final selection of name for organization. 2-3pm
- Formulation of bylaws for new organization, which includes organizational
structure. 3-5pm
- Supper 5-6pm (on your own)
- Selection of officers for new organization and for non-profit
corporation. 6-6:30pm
- Finalization of documents for new organization. Articles of Incorporation
and Bylaws. 6:30-7:15pm
- Report on GIA issues by sub-committee, to present to the DNR in July.
7:15-8:00pm
- Adjourn at 8pm
