Telemark to groom trails for two more weekends

Enjoying spring skiing on the Telemark Resort trails
The blessing of a bountiful snow winter is paying dividends in some great spring skiing. Skiers feel like champions as they fly over the fast trails. To keep the fun going Telemark Resort has decided to extend the ski season two weekends beyond the planned St. Urho/St. Patrick closing. Twenty five kilometers will be tilled and groomed for skating and classical skiing Friday afternoon through Sunday, March 23 - 25 and March 31 - April 1.

There is still over a foot of packed snow on the trails. The five groomed trails include the 2, 4, 5 & 7 K Birkebeiner loops, 5 K Sven Wiik World Cup Trail and 10 K Caldwell World Cup Trail, 10 K of Kortelopet Trail (from the Tony Wise Trail into the lodge), 9 K Tony Wise Trail, 6 K of the John Bauer Trail (same as the Kortelopet). Other trails still have good cover and offer good crust skiing in the morning and a soft surface with a firm base in the afternoons. The extensive snowshoe trail system remains in good shape and the tubing and snowboarding slopes will be open as well.
