Skated a quick lap for comparison after skating at the new course across the street. Skate deck firm and wide with nice skiff of loose snow on top helping edging. Corners are still good with little to no bare ice. Classic tracks looked in great shape.

The trail groomed up amazing and features corduroy so smooth, you'll want to wear it. Enjoy the trail!

I mean, I know I could lose a few pounds but the skate deck was too soft at 7pm 28F,. Surprising after this mornings grooming, one a couple days before that, and plenty of use. Turned into a no pole mostly V1 workout because poles punched through and V2 wasn't finding or holding much edge in the soft snow (didn't help that my skis are on the softer side too). Hoping for colder temps. Thank you groomer!

The Highland 9 Hole cross country ski trail was groomed today. Tons of snow out there and it groomed beautifully. Enjoy.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After skiing a lap at Highland National, we headed across the road to ski the 9-Hole course. Trail didn't appear to have been groomed recently; it was well-skied and a little hard-packed/rutted for skating. Surprisingly, the small basket poles punched thru this surface just as easily -- though given all the snow last week, not surprising that any of the natural snow trails are taking time to firm up. Skied a quick lap (under 3.5K) and found it weaved around the course terrain providing a nice variety. A number of skiers were out using the decent classic track.

As the kiddos would say, Highland 9 Hole is lit! Re-groomed the skate deck and classic deck. Use your best skis. Decks are perfect. Enjoy your weekend. Cheers.

Great conditions on the classic tracks--deep and well-defined. Thanks to the groomers for getting the trail ready so soon after the storm! It feels like years since we had this much snow to play with, although that's probably not true. It was a bit slow, but I think conditions will only improve.

Groomed the Highland 9-home this morning. Dang absolutely amazing. Perfect conditions. 8 to 10in skate deck, with a 8 inch classic deck. Hasn't been one person out yet, so it should set up perfect. Get out there and enjoy it. Cheers.

Poor condition. Skate deck is lumpy and iced over, and it's hard to get an edge in a number of locations. I recommend you avoid until the groomers get a chance to go over again.
