2019-2020 season
Reports 6 to 15 of 50    Month: Apr | Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Some of the most firm and fast skating this year. It didn’t take long for today’s grooming to set up. I skated all trails and most are in good to excellent condition. Expect a few bare spots and ice patches in addition to debris from the pines. No new classic tracks and it looked moderate to nonexistent further out. Get out and enjoy some mid March skiing at its best.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We scratched our skate lanes twice this morning after a crusty 1/2 in. of snow mix. The trail leveled and set up some nice looking comb. Conditions for skating should be good to very good. Tracks are in poor condition except for Sally's classic trail which still looks decent. We did not set any new track. There is some debris on the trails and only a few bare spots located on white pine trail. Enjoy.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I groomed all the skate decks tonight. On roughly half the trails I made two passes. The temp was 26 when I started and 20 when I finished. The skating should be fast before the temp climbs on Tuesday. Except some debris but there are only a few thin spots and ice patches. There is still a significant base on the trails after the recent warm temps.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The trails have melted and glazed over from the warm temps this last weekend. I was out setting track on Sally's classic trail this morning and was able to get some mixed results as for track quality. Some areas were soft enough to set to full depth where other areas the track was very shallow. There was some leaf litter in the hardwoods and heavy needles in Pine/Spruce stands. We are planning to scratch the skate deck tonight and attempt tracking some of the core trails tomorrow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We groomed and tracked the main trails this morning. It is too warm this afternoon to set Sally's classic trail. Track and skate deck look really good after 2-3 inches of new snow from yesterday. Conditions are excellent and may hold through the weekend. Get out today if you can. Warm sunny conditions will melt down conditions quickly.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We freshened up the skate lanes today and left the track as it is from last week. The skate lanes should be in good to very good condition with some debris on the trails. There should not be any bare spots to worry about yet. We will continue to evaluate the potential for some fresh snow, but plan to re-groom the skate lanes as necessary by weeks end.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We're have the entire trail system groomed! We are working on tracking this afternoon and planning to finish tomorrow morning. With a few extra passes we have the deck looking flat and smooth. The tracks are setting decent with shine hard ice areas not being at full depth. Otherwise the conditions are excellent. Sally's classic trail was groomed and tracked yesterday and is in great shape with a light dusting of snow cover. Conditions should hold through the weekend.

The skate lanes have been freshened up this morning and renovated most of the trail debris into the base. The classic track is still in good shape. We are planning to reset the trails later in the week in preparation for the weekend once temperatures cool below freezing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Ski conditions remain excellent. The trails were last groomed on Wednesday. Conditions should stay nice through the weekend with some softening in the afternoons with warmer temps and sunny conditions. The nights remain cold and should set up the deck and tracks limiting melting and hopefully icing. It will be a great weekend for skiing if you are in the area. Grooming will resume on Monday.

We groomed and tracked the entire trail system today after a fresh few inches of fluffy snow. Sally's classic trail is planned to be tracked before the weekend. The trails are smooth, flat and setting up nicely. Conditions are excellent and should be ideal for both skate and classic.
