Trail Detail
Notes
Located 18 miles north of Duluth, the groomed trails are in nice primitive outdoor setting. The trails feature the "Wolfski's Ski Den" warming shack, open daily sunrise to sunset. In addition to the 21 kilometers of classical skiing, there will also be 11 kilometers groomed for skate-skiing. Trails are groomed Fridays and Mondays, and/or as needed. No fee or Minnesota State Ski Pass is required.Trail Reports

I Classic skied Bear Paw, Blue Ox, and Nine Pine today. The tracks were very, very good to excellent. The snow was fairly hard packed and powdery. That made for excellent skiing with good grip and good control. After skiing, I called the Boulder Ski Trail Hotline (recorded message) and learned that someone finished grooming at Midnight. That someone deserves a raise or at least a bonus for getting the trails groomed in the middle of the night. Thank You!

Got out skiing first time this year at boulder. Just did bear paw, but conditions and grooming were perfect to me. Lots of cars in parking lot but had trail basically to myself. Some skiers came off the lake from the warming shack enjoying their day too. Couple pics of trail and one of the campsites near the end. Beautiful and fun day. Classic tracks were in mint condition, which I used, but skate deck looked excellent too.

This morning I saw that Boulder was in the process of grooming and setting tracks. So, I went out there in the afternoon. I classic skied Bear Paw, Blue Ox, and Nine Pines. Very good to excellent tracks and snow. Fine grooming. It was about as good as it ever gets. The Wolfski's Ski Den was a much-appreciated amenity. From the Ski Den, there were pretty good tracks across the lake to get on the Bear Paw trail.

Great skiing today on my twin skins. Freshly groomed trail. Does not get much better. Tracks firm with no ice. All types of skis would work well!

Thank you to the groomers and trail maintainers! This was the first ski of my season, and we skied Blue Ox and Nine Pine in the full moonlight under snow-laden trees. These trails are fabulous to ski in the dark because the grooming is so reliable and solid. Perfect ski!

Great conditions today but way too much dog feces left on trails? Skied Lonesome Grouse and 9 Pines. Tracks were good. No debris to deal with. Used waxless skis with good results.
