Trail Detail
Notes
Located 18 miles north of Duluth, the groomed trails are in nice primitive outdoor setting. The trails feature the "Wolfski's Ski Den" warming shack, open daily sunrise to sunset. In addition to the 21 kilometers of classical skiing, there will also be 11 kilometers groomed for skate-skiing. Trails are groomed Fridays and Mondays, and/or as needed. No fee or Minnesota State Ski Pass is required.Trail Reports

We parked at the east end. The parking lot gate was closed so we parked along the road. We had our new pup out for his first ski so we just skied to Lonesome Grouse and the Lonesome Grouse loop. The trail had been heavily used by vehicles before the most recent snow, so it's rough and rutted. But there is enough snow to shuffle around in. Grass pokes through here and there but we didn't hit any rocks.

No grooming yet but some tracks to slip into. Just did bear paw. Probably need more snow for grooming and classic tracks but glad to get out there on a beautiful day.
