Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Rolled - fair for skate, good for classic.
Saturday morning, Front 9 part of course had been rolled and was able to skate ski entire loop over 3 hour period. Some lose snow and some bare spots but all were grass. Used my good skis. Snowmaking loop closed for snowmaking.

Grooming Scheduling
Conditions: Man-made loop closed but flats will be rolled this morning!
Due to low snow conditions we will be making snow on key areas of the man-made loop for the the next 3 to 4 days which means the loop will be closed. The good news is with the fresh snow we will be rolling the flats this morning. Thanks for your patience.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: 1.5 km of full width trail with some dirty snow and a few icy spots.
It's fundamentally a snowmaking loop half-full vs half-empty situation. Given the soggy green grass everywhere else, I am very thankful for what we have at Wirth. The trail now includes a long sustained climb, so it is a decent place for a workout. There are no bare spots or rocks, but there are areas with tree debris and brownish snow, so if you have multiple pairs of skis I would leave your best pair at home. As of Thursday afternoon the skate deck was a bit lumpy and the classic track shallow but visible on most of the course.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Surprisingly good.
Skied this morning with some video and analysis work. It looked liked they groomed recently, corduroy was visible. Very dirty snow, but all in all very skiable. Bring all the cold temps and new snow!

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: A few thin spots but not too bad.
Skied after dark Tuesday. About 1.5 k of trail open now (a little more than last week). Trail was sugary with a little dirt showing through in two or three places. Was glad I used my B skis and glad most of the snow seems to have survived.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Groomed and tracked overnight. Good skiing.
I expected the trail to be trashed after the combination of a big high school race Saturday, warm temps and rain turning to sloppy snow on the drive. Surprise. The trail was groomed to a nice corduroy overnight. The classic track was deep and well cut. Waxing for skate mostly irrelevant, wet structure best bet. Toko orange klister would have been okay with a strong skier on board. I would have liked a bit of silver mixed in. The tracks were slow and a bit abrasive. Good job TW.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: 1.25 km open as of 3:00 today. Fast and soft up hills. Deep base though and good edging and one classic track throughout.
Park at the par 3 lot. Course not open by the tubing hill. No snow guns going but saw them moving some snow around with a PistenBully for part of the time when I was there. Looks like they could open up a little extension after they smooth it out some more.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Lots of people out at Wirth tonight enjoying the newly-expanded 1.3K loop. Par 3 parking lot was full! The uphills were very sugary, but otherwise the loop is in good shape.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: 1k loop packed hard with a thin layer of natural snow. 1 big sugary uphill, a few patches of ice and grass. A lot better than nothing!
It was good to be able to get out and ski. The Loppet Fast Kids seemed to be enjoying it a lot!
