The
inns of the North Shore Bed & Breakfast Association are
located in small Minnesota communities along Lake Superior's
North Shore. The area is known for magnificent scenery, crystal
clear lakes, wildlife and year round activities.
Visitors
of the North Shore's Bed and Breakfast inns will enjoy the
area's natural beauty and its slower pace and seclusion,
while appreciating the graceful hospitality and distinctive
flavor cultivated by the inn hosts. Each inn offers essential
comforts, from quilts and antiques to a spa and massage
or the most up-to-date amenities desired by the modern traveler.
All
of the North Shore Bed & Breakfasts are just a 5-10
minute drive (one is trailside) from groomed and tracked
cross-country ski trails. Just outside of Grand Marais,
the Pincushion Trail System provides 25 km of trail with
an additional 175 km groomed along the nearby Gunflint Trail.
Another 195 kilometers of groomed trails are found along
the North Shore Mountains Trail from the Cascade River area
south to Lutsen and Tofte. Snowpack is typically very dependable
due to "lake effect snowfall" with the cross country
ski season usually spanning early December through the end
of March.
