    This position serves as the leader of the men’s and women’s Nordic skiing and embraces the vision of principled leadership, academic integration, and competitive excellence. The Head Coach leads by developing a vision, setting team goals, and building a healthy and transformative culture. The Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the program, including student-athlete development, planning and preparation for practices and contests, managing team staff, identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes, budget, operational logistics, providing leadership to the respective Friends Group, and participating in appropriate University, community, alumni/ae and media relationships – all in compliance with University, Ivy League and NCAA rules and regulations.

  • Program Director, Head Coach, Development Coach: Winter Park Competition Center (Winter Park, CO):
    The WPCC is seeking a motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team:
    > Nordic Program Director to oversee and administer all aspects related to the
    WPCC Nordic Program, Coaching Staff, and athletic development. This position
    could also encompass the duties of the Nordic Competition Team Head Coach.
    > Nordic Competition Team Head Coach focuses on high school-age athletic
    development and JNQ racing. This position plays a crucial role in the
    development of our athletes, both on and off the snow, while upholding the
    values and mission of WPCC.
    > Nordic Development Program Coaches (5) focuses on younger athletes (U8 -
    U14). This position plays a crucial role in the development of our younger
    athletes, both on and off the snow, while upholding the values and mission of
    WPCC.

  • Program Director/Head Coach: Plain Valley Nordic Team (Plain, WA):
    As a full-time, year-round role, the Plain Valley Nordic Team program director and head coach will lead the youth ski education programs and oversee a team of 130 skiers and 20+ coaches. Responsibilities include communicating PVNT culture & philosophy, designing training programs, coaching skiers, managing communication, recruitment of coaching volunteers, and representing PVNT locally and nationally. The ideal candidate will have coaching experience with skiers aged 5 to 18, expertise in cross-country skiing, strong communication skills, and relevant coaching certification.

    Anderson Bluffs and River Trails Foundation has a new job opening for Executive Director to lead the ABR operations in Ironwood. The role oversees all ski operations, trail grooming, cabin rentals, programming/events, and philanthropy efforts. A competitive compensation package is offered for this opportunity to sustain and grow the legacy ski center for future generations.

  • Nordic Director: Snow Mountain Ranch (Granby, CO):
    The Nordic Director is responsible for managing and directing all operational aspects of the Nordic Center, including year-round trail development and maintenance, and coordinating year-round special events, and outdoor trail programming. Located on over 120K of world-class terrain, Snow Mountain Ranch’s Nordic Center is the place to be for classic Nordic skiing, skate skiing, and skijoring. The Nordic Center is located and operated out of YMCA of the Rockies – Snow Mountain Ranch, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center, serving more than 50,000 guests annually.

Loppet: Executive Director Claire Wilson Stepping Down

After several years of bringing growth and evolution to the Loppet Foundation, Executive Director Claire Wilson has announced she will be stepping down in September to join her partner in Washington, DC. Under Wilson's direction, the Loppet has expanded its community role while weathering some difficult times, culminating last February with the World Cup races at Theodore Wirth. The Foundation board will begin a search for a new Executive Director.

Tribute to Mark Ernst Planned for June 1st

On Saturday, June 1st, there will be a celebration of Mark Ernst's life at De Pere Voyager Park, open house style, with some activities, food and beverage. "Coach Ernst" of Green Bay, founded local clubs like Hillcrest Running and Bay Nordic and inspired active lifestyles through supporting school/community sports like NDA cross-country and Door County events. Ernst passed away in January.

Antonina Anikin Passes On

September 14, 2023
On August 18th, Antonina Anikin passed away in Duluth. Antonina, along with her husband Nikolai, were fixtures of Nordic skiing in Minnesota and the Midwest. Under the Gitchi Gummi Sports Association they coached a generation of the elite Nordic Skiers in the Duluth area and through out the Midwest. There will be a celebration of her life on Sunday, Oct 1st, noon to 3pm, at Snowflake ski center in Duluth.
