Elm Creek Relays

Tonight's time trial race is the last one of the season. It was great to say "hey, it has been a great season, considering..., and good luck at Birkie", to the regulars such as Mark Byrnes, John Hopkins, Paul Schoening, and Paul Olson. The man-made 2 x 2.5K course feels very familiar by now because pretty much all time trials were held on this course except one. But the racers' enthusiasm has not changed a bit. Everyone had their own goal and training program, and this race series have become local skiers' weekly hard-effort event. Thanks to all the seasonal skiers, this race series have been staying in course and will continue for many years to come. It was a bit sad to realize that the skiing season is winding down and may be done in about a few weeks. But, there will be another great year. See you all next year.
Tonight, the temperature dropped to 13F with a little wind. Mark Byrnes led the pack the entire way and beat his last week's finishing time by 21 seconds. John Hopkins shaved 26 seconds, and Paul Schoening took 51 seconds off. Way to go, Mark, John, and Paul!!! Also, welcome back, Jon Faust (his first time show this season), and welcome the two new racers, Rich Berstran and Evan Pengelly.
Here are tonight's race results:
Two laps of 2.5K Valley loop:
Mark Byrnes 11:37
Paul Olson 11:43
Evan Pengelly 11:58
John Hopkins 12:22
Paul Schoening 13:00
Jon Faust 13:21
Rich Berstran 14:22
