The 4th annual UP-STRIDE-DOWN nordic adventure was held on
Saturday March 19th. The wildly dressed skiers were in a frolic-like
mood on the meticulously groomed Noque trail which began at
the forrestville trail head. Anyone who is familar with the
trail knows that there must be some degree of seriousness
to classic ski up to Hwy 510, and to there be met with a changing
area to put their skis and return to forestville. The round
trip is a honest 30k of challenging terrain but knowing the
beautiful surroundings of the trail and lots of party- like
ski friends to sooth the trip, a fun time was had by all.
Music and good food was waiting at the finish line. A record
sized coed group gathered this year. Apparently one day short
of the first day of spring, the skiers wanted to come out
and enjoy another beautiful day on the Noque trail with their
ski friends. All the proceeds were given to the NTN for grooming
and continued trail improvements at the NTN ski party later
that evening at the Landmark Inn. Make sure to put this fun
day of sking on your calendar for next year.
