Tuesday Night Lights Nordic Ski Race Results
January 22, 2008Temperature: 1 degree F.
Wind: Calm
Sky: Clear, with Full Moon rising
Snow: Old transformed, not real fast gliding
Grooming: Excellent Ginzu-groomed skate lane completed earlier in the day- Notes: A hardy group of skiers came out on a very cold evening for the debut event of the Tuesday Night Lights series at Pine Valley. An afternoon pass with the Ginzu groomer provided excellent skating conditions, although the temperature kept things a bit on the slow side for gliding. After the skiing was done, everyone was all smiles with plenty of hot chocolate, donut holes, bananas, cookies, and birthday cupcakes served up in the warm and toasty Spafford Chalet. An added bonus was seeing legendary Minnesota ski coach Joe Nowak outside coaching youth ski jumpers on the 10-meter and 20-meter jumps. Same time, same place next Tuesday.
