Finding Rainbow Results
Conditions: Air temp. 1F, very little wind, sunny. Very nicely groomed trails with 2-3 inches new snowfall on top from overnight, the skate deck was firm and newly rolled before the race early in the morning, and the double track sets were partially skied through. Everyone was glad the temp. was mild and wind was not noticeable. It was a great racing condition!
A small crowd of skiers beat the weatherman’s prediction and enjoyed a nice race today. Even though Ethan Holdahl soloed the 20K distance skate race, Ethan posted very impressive winning time in a 4 laps of 5K Rainbow Resort JOQ challenge course. Dave Clemens took the title for the 20K classic race. Skiing every day to work, Dr. Clemens is also known for as being the only U.S. skier finished all Vasaloppet International races in Sweden, U.S., Japan and China. In the 5K classic race, Maplelag’s Jack Richards won the classic race on the JOQ course. We wish him well in the upcoming meets. The other skiers enjoyed a warmer than expected day out skiing. Lynda Renner won the women’s 5K classic title. Congratulations to downhill skiers, Shizhe Li and Sandy Wang, for their first ever xc skiing experience, let alone on the 5K JOQ course.
