43rd Anniversary Buena Vista Snowjourn Cancellation

It is with regret that race organizers for the 2025 Buena Vista Snowjourn race and tour are announcing that the event will need to be cancelled. After three reschedule dates, Snowjourn was slated for Sunday, March 2. The Snowjourn racecourse did have adequate snow to hold the event as of last week. However, this week’s high temperatures has eroded and will continue to erode the ski trail to make it unsafe to hold the event. Both low snow and potential very icy trail conditions contributed to the cancel decision.

However, there will be an informal Snowjourn gathering on Sunday, March 2 from 4-6 pm at Bemidji Brewing, changing the event name slightly to Snowbrew. All skiers and ski supporters are invited to attend. The presentation of the annual Johnson – Jarvi Snowjourn Award, to an individual selected for demonstrating long term support and commitment of cross country skiing in the Bemidji area will be held. There will also be door prize drawings.

Buena Vista Snowjourn race organizers are hopeful that there will be adequate snow cover and reasonable temperatures for next year’s event, scheduled for January 17, 2026.
