Trail Detail
Notes
Trails are on the golf course. Some nice hills but most of the course is pretty exposed. There is one back leg that is quite shaded and seems to hold snow long after the rest of the course loses it. Rentals at the chalet.Trail Reports

Very little to no base. No grooming scheduled until further notice. Ground very soft in areas and the quality of snow is sub par.

I hit up Como late afternoon and it was good I got out while the trail is still there. There were several sections where I had to navigate through some grass and then although it looked well covered on the section by the lights (south side?), I hit asphalt when I pushed off. It was plenty skiable through 80% of the trail and not a bad time at all, but just a heads up if you go on Monday.

Snuck in a couple laps before heading off to work. Had the good fortune of following the groomer around the course. Overall thin, but good coverage with bare spots here and
there. A couple of skaters out and a few striders breaking trail. Beautiful winter morning. Big thank you to the groomer for the exceptional work.

All trails are open but some re-routing have been made. The cart paths that follow the trail were re-routed, I recommend avoiding. There are some areas that have slight bare ground to grass tuffs. Going under the bridge is still doable. 98% off the trail is viable and with the cold, the trail is slightly firmer. Enjoy!

It was great to be able to ski in our own neighborhood, and on such a beautiful day at that! Thanks to the groomer for making it possible! I had forgotten how much more work it is to skate on fresh snow than on the artificial stuff, and more technically challenging too, so I got a good workout in a shorter distance than usual. My partner was smarter and did classic, but he reported ice build up on his fish scales. By our 2 p.m. start, the bright sunshine had already melted large bare patches on the uphill by the chalet and at the crest of the big downhill on the exit from the back bowl (by the downhill ski area). It was still possible to go around them, but they seemed to grow even while we were there, as did the smaller bare spots coming out from under the bridge. By my third lap I was starting to see bare spots elsewhere, for which my own skis were probably responsible. Sorry everybody! The ground is probably too warm for the snow to adhere to it. That's why I recommend rock skis. Overall it was an enjoyable ski for which I am very grateful.

I started about 10:30 am as the grooming was finishing. The normal route was rolled, some partial tracks were skied in but watch the cart paths. The cart path on the hill leaving the parking lot is fully exposed and the flat before the hill returning from the back bowl added structure to my skis. I would avoid that area. A beautiful morning and plenty of good striding.
