Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed, Bare ground ]
We have been working hard to keep a portion of the trails open and safely skiable with grooming and shoveling. The warm temps are winning and we will close for skiing tomorrow, February 8th, and reopen when we get more snow. We are open for snowshoeing.

Have been enjoying skiing here the past four days and are so impressed with the work of the groomers and snow farming that has kept a portion of trails open and skiable given the current weather - thank you so much!

Started out early and was pleasantly surprised to find corduroy and very nice conditions. Skate deck was very fast with pretty good edge on the new groomed improvised trails that are a set of intertwining loops along rolling terrain. It was so much fun zooming around the trails on a beautiful sunny cool-warm day. This was my most fun ski of the year by far.

Skied three hours midday Friday. Conditions and snow cover surprisingly good, good enough to ski 1 1/2 hours without duplicating trails. Skating was a little icy but good. Occasional bare spots. In three hours I had a few thrills but no crashes. Friends said the classic tracks were mostly good but glazed with occasional bare spots. The weather was beautiful. A few times a year you get one of those ski days that you live for. This was one of those days. Thanks ABR for your hard work and grooming expertise.

We're still hanging in there with skiable natural snow! Thanks ABR and groomers! First picture is coming out of the Kottage access onto Blueberry Bluffs, other pictures from Blueberry and Deer Trail. Set tracks in some areas and some areas you need to step out of or random icy patches to work around. Overall the skiers are having a great time skiing on natural snow and working with what we've got. B skis suggested, still not into rock skis yet so that's encouraging.

In El Nino winters like this, thank Nate, Kyle, Eric and other folks at ABR for keeping things going. Yes, it's getting super thin and many trails are closed but there was enough good skiing to keep us entertained for two hours with temps approaching 40F. We skated but others were enjoying decent tracks and getting purchase with skin skis. ABR has also been grooming up some new connector trails that have fresh snow to take pressure off the main loops which have been pounded with heavy traffic over the past week.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
We had a groomers meeting with five of us this morning. We discussed plans to survive the warmer temps coming up this weekend. We came up with four loops totally about 10 k of gentle terrain using multiple trails and new connectors that holds snow well and is fairly debris free. We then set out in three groups and hauled snow, shoveled snow and beefed up the weak areas. We finished the day by grooming the 10 k loops. Some of the new short connectors were soft but overall skiers were quite impressed. In conclusion, we have a 10 k loop for good skis and we have an additional 30 km open but for B skis due to debris.

Snow is holding up remarkably well on most combi trails. Good or B skis if you know where to go. Steepest downhills wisely roped off. Very fun and skiable. The groomers are making contingency plans for the warm days ahead - my money is on our snow surviving.

Trails are a bit rough. The grooming has kept conditions fair. I stayed on the river trail as they recommended. Had a good time. The snow base is getting pretty thin.

Skied 40k on natural snow today, fast and fun. Conditions very variable, from very good to a bit rough - but easy to see and avoid any bare spots. Mostly because of the speed, I'd recommend staying away from the biggest downhills for now.
