Notes

The trail is located about two blocks West of Hwy 169 on Bass Lake Rd. Overall this is a nice little gem. The terrain is very gentle and seems an ideal place for a family with small children or beginner skiers.

I had good intentions after putting away the skis before the snow the last couple of days. Thought I'd take the woodies out for a spin on the Eagle Lake Golf Course. I put on a little Swix purple kick wax. There were a few blown over tracks from other skiers a day or so ago. Put the skis on with the red Rottafella 2 pin 'racing' bindings of old (saving weight by not having a 3rd pin I guess). I didn't get 10 meters before I noticed something was wrong...the right boot wasn't connected to the ski anymore...in fact it wasn't connected to the sole of the boot (see photo). I've used these touring boots less than 6 times and have a pair of their skate boots. The last time I broke a binding was with an old 38 mm Adidas when the lightweight metal binding came apart on the Herringbone Hill in the old Flower Gardens race course back in the classic days. It looked good out there. Maybe I'll break out some other skis tomorrow.
