Received 1.5" last night, certainly well below the forecasted amount of snow(6-9"). After rolling this morning there is a soft 2" deck. This should firm up with the falling temperatures. At this time there are no tracks, just the corduroy from the roller. Do not expect mid season conditions. Bring the rock skis and keep the new ones at home. Special note regarding one trail segment: We have temporarily closed the trail from Kiosk H (below Herringbone hill) to the wetland by pass (near Washburn lake road). This is because a portion of that trail was bulldozed for future logging operations, and with the thin deck there are safety concerns regarding bare ground possibilities. Once we get more snow, we will lift the CAUTION tape.
