We classic and skate skied part of the main loop of Magney today while it was snowing hard. The classic tracks are very solid and 99% debris free and covered with snow. The skate lane is deeply rutted throughout. People took a stroll along the side of the trail leaving deep footprints. The deer had a party on a downhill and left quite a bit of leaf debris but you can see it ahead of time if you have your eyes open. If you venture out to Magney, I'd suggest classic - it will be a treat. Lots of snow left and great tracks!

The trail is freshly groomed today and was great especially considering the winter we've had. There's both both classic and skate skiing and it was in great condition. Thanks for grooming! The parking lot was barely plowed. Two people had crossed over from the snowmobile trail and walked on the skate deck in their big clunky hiking boots.

We got 6 inches yesterday on top of Spirit so we decided to check out Magney. There was a nice skied in track. The section with the gravel horse trail did have some rocks poking through here and there where the track was since it is not a rolled trail and was just fresh snow. When we got to the grass section of the trail, the person with the fish scales started clumping, I was fine on my skins. We ran into a man walking the horse section of the trail with two off leash dogs who were running in the what was once a nice track. I asked him if he could walk on a different trail or at least to the side, which he did not do. If you want to ski it go to the right where the grass section is, he walked from the SHT he said, which could have been Bardon's or Ely's.

Really bad; borderline unskiable. Bumpy and uneven, with frequent soft spots, and grass/rocks/sticks sticking through. Pole plants went down to bare ground here and there. Needs more snow to be any good.

Great morning ski, not groomed. Used the skied-in classic tracks. There's a couple slushy/icy spots, and a couple low spots with open water but those were easily avoidable.
