The snow on the trails has turned mostly to ice and the lake snow has pretty much all melted off. We are unable to do anymore grooming unless we receive a significant snowfall. All ski trails are open for hiking and fat biking.

Still skiing! We groomed the trail along the south shore of Flour Lake again today. It groomed up incredibly well. We extended the trail to the very western tip of the lake for an out-and-back trail from the lodge totaling about 4.2 km. Good skis can be used on this trail. The trails on the north shore of the lake have mostly burned out, but are still traversable. The campground loop is holding in, but dirt has started to come through in a few places. We groomed a new skate deck in the campground this morning but do not have enough snow to set a better classic track than what is still there. B skis in campground recommend, good skis if you're careful.

Classic skied the Campground loop and Summer Home road at Bearskin Lodge today. It was just below freezing and 2 inches of new snow earlier in the week covered ice and rocks in tracks and provided nice glide in most places. But there was four or five places lasting 20 or 30 feet in the tracks were the rocks from the road were very apparent and I stopped to step ski over them. The skate lane had many more places where the gravel was coming thru and I was glad I was not trying to skate. I did put new gouges in my rock skis but enjoyed the day and repeated the ski after the first run with more confidence knowing where the thin spots were.

We received about 2.0" of fresh snow over the last couple days. We groomed Flour Lake Campground Loop this morning and were very happy with how it turned out. Good skis should be safe on that trail. We also groomed Logging Camp and Deer Mouse trails. The first section of Logging Camp has some grass poking through, especially in the classic track, but the skate deck turned out really nice. We recommend B skis on most of Logging Camp. Deer Mouse is groomed with only a skate deck and has some incredibly good sections as well as several sections that will warrant rock skis. On the lakes, most of the snow out there melted from the warm weather last week so our lake trails are pretty much starting from scratch again. The south shorelines are quite protected from sunlight so we didn't have complete snow loss over there. We were able to get a nice trail and track set across the lake from the lodge, west to the campground loop. We plan to groom additional trails on the south shore heading east in the upcoming days. Bearskin was also able to get a nice trail set on the south shore of Aspen Lake and was able to regroom Summer Home and Campground Loop. They mentioned that Summer Home had a couple rock spots popping through, but was otherwise good, as is their Campground Loop.

We had a beautiful classic ski this morning around Flour Lake out from Golden Eagle Lodge (thanks Zach)! There was hoarfrost on the ridges and animal tracks along the shore. The ski track held up nicely and no worries about good skis on the lake track. Pole plants were a little grabby in places but overall a smooth highly enjoyable ski. My friend also did the campground and she had a fun little downhill when skiing out.

We received a light layer of new snow and re-groomed all the lake trails and the campground loop. We are holding off on touching Logging Camp, Deer Mouse, etc. for the moment as more light snow is forecast, so we want to let us much fall on the trail as possible. Our plan is to groom in a classic track on Logging Camp and Deer Mouse Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning if all goes as planned. Good skis on lakes and campground loop - rock skis on inland trails yet, for now. Everything we groomed this morning groomed up nicely. Temperatures are only expected to get to 34 by midweek so the warmer weather hopefully should not have much adverse effects. Wind is also much more moderate - it's nice skiing weather this week.

Bearskin has a Lake Loop, Summer Home Road, and a loop on Aspen Lake open! The Lake Loop was very windblown, but still fun! Summer Home Road had a firm skate deck and deep tracks. There was some dirt, so B skis would be recommended. We also skied the lower part of Beaver Dam, which had a skate deck but no tracks. Would recommend rock skis on Beaver Dam, as there were roots and rocks. Thank you to the groomers for working with the snow you have!

Good tracks set on two lake loops: 7k on East Bearskin and 4k on Aspen. Also good skate decks on both. Good tracks set and skate deck on Summer Home Road and Campground Road, though there is some dirt in tracks on Campground Road, which can be avoided. Other trails through the woods are technically open and skiable, but do it on rock skis and be careful. There is about 8" of snow, which isn't enough to groom in the woods. I was on wood skis and they found a few rocks, hidden under the snow. Skied here for three days.
