Did a couple of short skis yesterday and today. From Fountain, yesterday, the trail was neither packed nor tracked. We broke trail for a couple of miles or so and saw a coyote (bonus). This morning, from Lanesboro, it was double tracked. Quite good conditions, especially after the first mile or two when the footprints fade out (though to be fair, they were mostly out of the tracks). A beautiful morning. Recommend for classic if you just want to get out on some natural snow and don't have time to drive too far, though it's very flat. If you start from Fountain watch at the beginning for a few (avoidable) spots where the wind left some mounds of snow alternating with bare pavement.
