Trail Reports

2023-2024 season
Reports 1 to 4 of 4    Month: Jan
Sunday, January 21, 2024
Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
On the main trail (A), conditions are very good for classical and excellent for skating. The tracks are firm and of adequate depth. There is a modest amount of leaves in the tracks, but no bare spots. I had to downgrade the other trails (B to F) to fair to good, due to accumulations of organic matter in the tracks necessitating frequent stepping out of the track. The skating deck remained good, as most of leaves blew into the tracks. I did not venture onto the the other more hilly trails (C, H), as I expected they would have debris issues too. Groomer Aaron did a great job with our limited snow, to achieve full coverage. The lodge was not open this afternoon.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
4-6" of snow - Set skate deck and cut track this morning. Track is fair, but expect some debris (leaves, twigs). Skate deck isn't too bad. Will still be soft until the freeze sets it up. Just glad to be back on snow!
