Notes

Some of the best trails in southern Minnesota. Tucked in the valley behind the school, the trails run around the northern slopes of the valley making them quite challenging and also well protected from the sun. Some lighted sections, and snowmaking operations.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Bruce and I rolled all of the trails after 7" of wet snow. Now the snow needs to set up and dry out. Skiing today will be soft but the surroundings are beautiful! Grooming plans: Tomorrow morning we'll take the Ginzus out and groom again and set track.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skate deck was groomed on all trails this morning and are looking good. Debris on the trails in places, twigs, leaves, and walnuts just need to be alert as it is mainly in a handful of areas. The classic tracks have not been touched by the groomers since they were set earlier in the week.

Bruce and I combed the skate lanes this morning and they are very good. I reset the classic track and it turned out mostly very good. B skis because of the areas with twigs, leaves, etc.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All trails groomed for skating this morning. Skating conditions remain quite good. Icy spots are now a little more scuffed up, so slightly less treacherous, but continue to use caution. There is a little classic track remaining, but it is thin and icy. We will just have to wait and see what conditions develop to see what we can do with the classic track over the next few days. Happy skiing!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All trails groomed for skating this morning. The skate track remains firm and fast. Use caution for a few icy spots. We attempted to set a classic track on the 5K loop, river trail, and meadow trail. The classic track is quite shallow, but better than nothing. We look forward to more snow...someday. Happy skiing!

Grooming team Tom and Eric hit the trails this morning and they are awesome! Don't let the weather the past week dissuade you from skiing; the trails are clean, smooth and fast. There's a hard glacial bottom with a thin layer of new snow on top. As a result the classic tracks are shallow but clean (reminded me of Brother Jerome's homemade shallow track setter in the low-snow years).

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
1-2 inches of new snow on top of ice crust. All trails groomed for skating. Skating conditions should be pretty good, as the trails groomed up better than expected. Use caution for some icy spots. No classic track set today. We may try to set a classic track over the weekend after a few more passes with the groomers.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
We received about 2" of wet snow and it's over a very thin wet base. We rolled the man made loop and determined we need to wait for colder temperatures tomorrow morning to do any more trail work. Will update tomorrow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Groomed all trails this morning. The main loop is good skate skiing however classic tracks are frozen and in rough shape with no way to groom at present. The upper most trails were groomed but very icy prior to grooming and if deciding to ski them downhill areas are very fast and require good skills.
