Trail Detail
Notes
A beautiful trail right in the city of Ashland. The full 6.3 kilometers of the trail are tracked for classic style skiing and most are groomed for skate style skiing as well.Trail Reports

Tried both skate and classic on the trails this evening, and was pleasantly surprised. While definitely B or rock skis due to periodic twigs, pine needles, and some cones, the tracks are sufficiently deep and the skate deck firm and fast. A few skate pole plants popped deep into the snow, but nothing that slowed us down. Classic-only portions were great and everything was double-tracked throughout. While it could use another groom due to lots of skier use since last grooming, this is well worth it, and a fabulous resource for the town of Ashland!

Classic skied around 18 km this evening. Most everything was rolled. There wasn't tracks, but now there are decent shallow skied-in tracks most everywhere. Deer are abundant throughout. Good ski, took abit of energy... Beautiful evening ski!

Classic skied a couple of laps this afternoon and conditions had transformed in the last 24 hours with 4" of fresh snow and a great grooming job. The tracks were firm and deep and the skate deck looked great as well. A bit of tree debris still there from the last storm, but it didn't impact the skiing.

First, thank you so much for your hard work to open this gem of a trail up after that heavy snow. Classic skied 6 km tonight with a headlamp. Conditions are rough. Snow is good. Hard-soft with some fresh fluff and awesome grip and glide. The base is way uneven, tracks are unreliable in many areas. Large holes/divots in areas. Few straightaways have a shallow good tracks. Skate deck is firm and choppy. I'm not disappointed, but thought I'd give people a heads up. Be careful. Would have liked a 15 to 20 km ski, but the high power seemed to have me ski a balance check 6 km. Progress not perfection. I needed that ski after work. Thank you!

The good news is that the wet heavy snow will make a great base. The bad news is that the wet heavy snow brought down a lot of branches, limbs, and trees. All trails were cleared as best as we could and are groomed with a shallow track throughout. There is a lot of tree debris on the trail - we appreciate your help flicking it off as you ski. Trails are hard in some spots, soft in others.

Quite a bit of wet and heavy snow. Grooming plans: We'll go out Friday and pick up downed branches and then start packing it down.
